Permanent Hair Reduction

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal is a procedure in which laser energy absorbed by melanin (pigment) selectively destroys the hair follicle (selective photothermolysis). Modern diode laser systems operate at a wavelength of 810 nm and can be safely used on all skin types, providing long-lasting hair reduction.
Laser hair removal targets not just the hair but the hair follicle—which is why the results are permanent.

Why Are Multiple Sessions Necessary?
Laser hair removal is effective only on hairs in the active growth phase (anagen). Because of the hair growth cycle, not all hairs are in the anagen phase at the same time; therefore, maximum results are achieved with 6–8 sessions spaced apart.
| Region | Average Session | Session Interval | Duration/Session |
|---|---|---|---|
| Underarm | 6–8 | 4–6 weeks | 10–15 minutes |
| Bikini / Groin | 6–10 | 4–8 weeks | 15–30 minutes |
| Leg (full) | 6–8 | 6–8 weeks | 45–60 min |
| Face (upper lip/chin) | 8–10 | 4 weeks | 10–20 minutes |
| Back / Chest | 6–8 | 6–8 weeks | 30–45 minutes |
Pre-Procedure Preparation
- Do not use wax or tweezers for 4–6 weeks before the procedure (the hair follicle must be intact for the laser treatment)
- The hair should be trimmed — apply 1–2 days before the procedure
- Avoid sun exposure for the next two weeks and use SPF 50+
- Stay away from sunbeds for at least 4 weeks
- People taking anticoagulants should consult their doctors
Post-Procedure Instructions
Mild redness in the treated area is normal for 24–48 hours. During this time, avoid hot showers, saunas, and tanning beds; apply SPF 50+ to the area. The hair will fall out within 7–14 days—do not pull or rub it.
